Our café is truly under the protection of St. Valentine. How did he get here?

The wooden statue was crafted for us by Mr. Alois Bátorek. Now 74 years old, this craftsman from Veľké Rovné spent his career working as a tinsmith. About 10-15 years ago, he decided to take up woodcarving for health reasons. He creates everything using only a knife, without any other modern technology.

Lojzo Michel, an artistic blacksmith, and Martin Dička created the small shrine for this statue. The shrine now hangs proudly above the entrance to our café.
