Citizens and visitors of Ladce village have certainly noticed the work activity in the manor these days. The works on the monument restoration of the western part of the manor house, which are being carried out within the MaHoLa (Manor House Ladce) project, have entered their main phase in recent weeks. At the beginning, Silvia Da Col Heisar, Ltd., the company that owns the manor house, had the area cleared of a large part of worthless trees. In the next step, the work concentrated on heavy interior work, the aim of which is to roughly prepare the premises of the future cultural and creative centre. These will be adapted into exhibition spaces, a shop selling regional products and modest short-term accommodation, including the necessary sanitary facilities. Work is currently underway on the roof of the reconstructed part, where the roofing is being replaced in an Arts and Crafts manner. Particular attention is being paid to restoring the roofing of the two corner turrets, which are one of the symbols of the manor. All works are carried out on the basis of decisions of the Regional Monuments Office Trenčín, which continuously carries out state monument supervision on the building.

We would not have been able to implement the MaHoLa project without the support of the EEA and Norway Grants, administered by the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic. Our thanks also go to the municipality of Ladce, which is a partner of the MaHoLa project and which always responds to our requests in a helpful and constructive manner. The other project partners are the Vocational Boarding School in Ladce and Høgskulen for grøn utvikling in Bryn (Kingdom of Norway), whose representatives we will welcome in Ladce later this year. We will be glad to have you there. We also keep the MaHoLa project up-to-date on the project website www.kastiel-ladce.eu.
