Spring cleaning on the Manor House premises
Spring is the time of big clean-ups and in our manor we are no exception. This year's season of maintenance of the manor grounds began with the removal of woody growth, especially in the northern part of the manor (from the Za kaštieľom street). This side was originally the front of the manor house, which was later highlighted by the addition of a portico, through which visits by members of high society were originally received in the most representative areas of the manor house.
Maintaining the grounds of the manor house is not only our legal duty as the owner of a national cultural monument, but it also brings us the pleasure of moving around in the fresh air and, after a few hours, the result of our efforts. All work is carried out under the strict supervision of the Regional Monuments Office Trenčín, which we thank for their help and openness in communication.
We will continue our activities aimed at the restoration of the manor and the improvement of its grounds. We will be glad if you give us a helping hand. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
Lecture – Fate of the Motešický family, 12.4.2022
On April 12, 2022, we organized another lecture in the cultural house in Ladce with the help of the Ladce municipality, dedicated to the past of Ladce municipality. The topic of the lecture was this time the Motešický family, with an emphasis on the period when members of the family owned the local manor house, i.e. from the 1st half of the 20th century to the 1st half of the 20th century. 18th century to the last quarter of the 19th century. The author of the lecture was our colleague and member of our team Tomáš Michalík, an expert on the local history of Central Povazie. The lecture presented the results of genealogical and historical research, supported by the EEA and Norway Grants within the MaHoLa project. Some of the findings were presented here for the first time, helping to uncover unsuspected connections and at least a little insight into the past of a noble family that owned several manors and estates, especially in western Slovakia. We were amazed to discover that not only did people from as far away as Žilina and Bratislava travel to the lecture, but that it was also attended by bearers of the surname Motešický! For those who missed the lecture, but also for those interested from the ranks of professionals and the general public, we make the lecture available free of charge. We will continue our research. We look forward to your questions.
